A shortcut is a combination plus an action. The actions available:
- Launch or focus an application, and toggle one — the same key shows it and hides it again.
- Open a URL.
- Run a command.
- Send a keystroke.
- Arrange the front window into a slot.
- Cycle an application's windows, forwards or backwards.
- Press a media key — play/pause, next, previous, volume, mute.
- System command — lock, start the screen saver, show the login window, switch user, sleep, turn the display off, log out, restart, shut down. Three of those come in an asking and a non-asking pair, and three need the Automation permission.
- Open System Settings at one of thirty-nine panes.
- Open menu — a leader menu.
- Run flow — an Action Flow.
